Songwriter Series: The Traveling Teardrops + Owen Walsh + Abbie Griffin

The Traveling Teardrops is a Nashville-based duo comprised of Bronwen Fair and Noah G. Fowler specializing in well-crafted folk, Americana, and original tunes. Their nostalgic sound is influenced by the likes of Jim and Ingrid Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Young, and Nancy Griffith.

Owen Walsh has been telling stories and performing music his entire life. Born and raised on the banks of the Lackawaxen River in Honesdale, Pennsylvania—a small, historic coal-mining town—Owen grew up surrounded by relics of 19th Century American life and imagery ripe for musical exploitation.

Owen began playing violin at the age of three, studying formal repertoire. At 12 years old, he found his dad's dusty, old Epiphone guitar tucked away in a closet and taught himself how to play. Soon after he learned his first few chords, Owen began writing songs. He's followed in the long tradition of Americana folk music, in which lyrics are equal in importance to the melodies that bind them.

Little Martin in hand, singer-songwriter Abbie Griffin is a traveling songbook. Aiming to bring her art and experiences to anyone who will listen, she is an opportunistic individual who writes and records any and all song inspiration. To quote her greatest inspiration, her musical grandmother, “The saddest yet happiest songbird you’ll ever meet, with that smile.” She drives her art and every action she takes in her life with her heart on her sleeve, and that is clearly translated on stage through her connections with audiences.
