Songwriter Series: T.GUNN + Dan Zlotnick
T.GUNN - Jersey native, T.GUNN “blends a number of styles with a pale ale and tobacco tinged set of vocal prowess.” In 2013, after singing in punk rock and post-hardcore bands for 25 years (Communication Redlight, Mace Montana, Semantics & Died Out to name a few), T.GUNN picked up an acoustic guitar to fill in gaps of booked shows—in order to play more shows. This solo project allowed T.GUNN to blend more of his individual influences outside of bandhood with a more personal lyrical approach. His first full length ‘Semantics’ was released in 2017, with EP’s, demos and live recordings released in the years since. With Soul on the mind and Punk Rock in his heart, T.GUNN blends these styles and more, all the while keeping the DIY ethos at his center.
Dan Zlotnick - Dan Zlotnick has been called “the Americana voice of Westchester County, New York” because his joyous, warm energy emanates through his songs and performances. After a three-year independent minor league baseball career, Dan began writing and performing original music. A child of classic rock radio who dug deep into folk music in college, Dan half-jokingly claims that Jimmy Page taught him guitar and John Prine taught him lyric-writing. His sound is as comforting as the family photo on your wall and his lyrics feel like stories you would share with your best friends after a hearty home cooked meal.
Dan has made fans and friends in living rooms, backyards, and small venues around the country, as well as on prestigious stages like Tarrytown Music Hall, Paramount Hudson Valley Theater, Daryl’s House Club, Garcia’s at The Capitol Theatre, Pleasantville Music Festival, and Towne Crier Cafe. He has opened for artists including Drew Holcomb, The Felice Brothers, Marc Cohn, Patty Larkin, Jim Avett, Jessica Lynn, Arlen Roth, and more. Audiences will experience a full range of emotions and Americana textures, guided by Dan's candid storytelling, both in his lyrics and his easy-going conversation with the audience. His powerful yet soothing voice, intricate guitar work, and warm energy create a safe space for all of his listeners to feel human together.
