Songwriter Series: The Sunken City + Tom Barrett

The Sunken City is an indie pop folk-tinged trio based out of Red Bank, NJ. Their difficult to define sound incorporates an interplay of lush acoustic guitar layered with dreamy, melodic electric guitar leads and candid, ethereal female vocals. The Sunken City released their self-titled debut EP in 2022 and have been featured on Jeff Raspe's "Fresh Tracks" on Brookdale Public Radio 90.5 The Night.

Tom Barrett is a singer-songwriter currently residing in Jersey City, NJ. His quiet, soft-spoken style is reminiscent of similar artists like Nick Drake, Low Barlow and Damien Jurado. He released his latest record, You Are and You’ve Always Been, in September on the stalwart Northern NJ indie label, Mint 400 Records.
