Background: Widely acclaimed for his versatility, technological prowess and groove, Omar Hakim is one of the most successful drummers and session men of the past 40 years. Omar has releases under his own name and as collaborative visions with groups The Trio of Oz, Ozmosys, Omar Hakim Experience, and now fronting his own again, Sonic Boom Squad.
A glimpse of Omar's recorded collaborations include illustrious artists ranging from David Bowie to Lionel Richie. Weather Report to Madonna. Dire Straits to Chaka Khan. Anita Baker to Mariah Carey. Bobby McFerrin to Bruce Springsteen. Michael Jackson to Celine Dion. Sting to Daft Punk. All of these examples simply scratch the many surfaces spanning his wide-ranging musical career.
