Welcome with high anticipation, Tennessee's Amythyst Kiah
We’re thrilled to announce the next: Grab a seat swiftly for Grammy nominated, singer-songwriter Amythyst Kiah as we welcome her to our listening room! Kiah’s searing 2021 single “Black Myself” is a gut-belting, head-turning anthem, following her significant role alongside Rhiannon Giddens, Leyla McCalla and Allison Russell for the 2019 release of Songs of Our Native Daughters, where the song originally showcased via the Smithsonian Folkways label. This release, showcasing Amythyst’s strong songwriting in conjunction with sturdy acoustic guitar playing and banjo prowess, took the group to stages such as Carnegie Hall and Newport Folk Festival. Amethyst Kiah has had a strong career ever since. She is currently on her journey promoting her new album Still + Bright on Rounder Records which found her collaborating with producer Butch Walker as well as Billy Strings, SG Goodman and Avi Kaplan and performing in rooms such as Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and NYC’s Irving Plaza.
